OFFICIAL: Antonio Brown traded to Oakland

Antonio Brown is on his way to the Oakland Raiders. The Steelers are parting ways with one of the best ever wide receivers in exchange for a 3rd and 5th round pick.

Brown is expected to receive a restructured contract as part of the deal. He will likely set the record for highest paid wide receiver in NFL history for the second time in his career.

Various reports confirmed the news earlier tonight (March 10) after the disgruntled wide receiver posted a mocked up photo of himself wearing a Raiders uniform to Instagram.

The trade ends a messy and very public divorce between Brown and the team that helped turn him from a sixth round pick into a superstar. It gives the Raiders a high-profile addition after the team traded away linebacker Khalil Mack and receiver Amari Cooper last season.

Brown goes from a perennial playoff team to one that's made the post-season just once since 2002. He will be scrutinised for how he performs with a younger, less-experienced quarterback after voicing displeasure over Ben Roethlisberger's influence in Pittsburgh all off-season, and ultimately may need to prepare himself for a lot more uncertainty than he is used to.

A deal with Buffalo fell through earlier this week when Brown did not want to be part of the west New York franchise. The wide receiver may be joining an equally weak Raiders squad with an eye on the team's move to a high-profile Las Vegas market next year.

But after this off-season, we'll leave talking about where Brown is playing next year 'til next year.
