Bears roster remains one of NFL's strongest

At a glance: General manager Ryan Pace afforded himself the opportunity to fine-tune the running back room in the draft after putting stars all over the field over the last year or so. The under-the-radar draft selection of Calvin Ridley's younger brother Riley could see another star on offense.

General manager Ryan Pace has put an incredible number of stars together and built a Chicago team ready to win now. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky had a break-out season in 2018 and is set up with a strong cast of offensive play-makers around him. The defense has stand out players throughout - whether it be Akeem Hicks up front, Khalil Mack beside him, Prince Amukamara in coverage or Ha Ha Clinton-Dix covering the middle. Starting safety Eddie Jackson looks a bit out-of-place with so much talent around him defense.

The stacked Bears running back room didn't survive the off-season following Jordan Howard's trade to Philadelphia and Benny Cinnigham leaving in free agency. But the team did opt to trade up and use its highest selection - in the third round - at the position. David Montgomery should mesh well with starter Tarik Cohen in a backfield by committee approach that should see plenty of looks next season. Very few teams in the NFL could have dealt with Howard's departure so easily, but that's the luxury the Bears have with such a complete roster.
