Bears only need to fine-tune team, one of NFL's strongest

TAKEAWAYS

PROS

- General manager Ryan Pace has put an incredible number of stars together and built a Chicago team ready to win now. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky had a break-out season in 2018 and is set up with a strong cast of offensive play-makers around him. The defense has stand out players throughout - whether it be Akeem Hicks up front, Khalil Mack beside him, Prince Amukamara in coverage or Ha Ha Clinton-Dix covering the middle - so the team doesn't need to force a pick anywhere there. And that's a good thing because the Bears don't have their first selection until near the end of Day 2 because of the Mack trade and the team's move up for wide receiver Anthony Miller last year.

CONS

- We wrote in February that the Bears were stacked at running back but Jordan Howard's trade to Philadelphia obviously changes that. Human Joystick Tarik Cohen remains so the position has its starter, but the team will surely look to add a running back -- with USA Today reporting no team has met with more running backs prior to the draft. Other teams are worse off at running back, but Chicago has the luxury of fine-tuning its whole team.

- Former fourth round safety Eddie Jackson looks like a bit out-of-place on this defense. While there is plenty of defensive backs talent around him, Chicago could certainly look make Jackson a depth player and add to the position , potentially with its 87th overall pick in the third round.

- You can never get enough pass rushers, and with Leonard Floyd in the final year of his deal, the team could certainly add one in a deep draft class at linebacker.
