Rob Gronkowski will make a decision on whether he wants to continue his NFL career within the next two weeks.
The news came via the tight end's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who was speking on the NFL Live podcast.
"He’s thinking it through, he’s giving it a lot of thought," said Rosenhaus: "I imagine a decision will happen in the next couple of weeks."
Gronkowski considered retiring last year before returning to the Patriots for his worst statistical season since his 2010 rookie campaign, recording 47 receptions for 682 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games.
The 29-year-old missed games due to injury for the sixth-consecutive season, but returned to spark some playoff magic -- ultimately icing the Super Bowl with a 29-yard reception that set up the game's lone touchdown.
Gronkowski is still a top-tier player at his position, and would be a welcome return in New England. The team is still likely to draft a tight end high in a class that is deep at the position, however, with the uncertainty surrounding Gronk's future unlikely to go away.
The tight end is due a $9 million base salary in 2019.
