Former Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson is retiring after ten seasons in the NFL.
Following the highest catch percentage of his career (71.6%) in his lone season with the Raiders, the receiver presumably walks away as his body catches up with other numbers and his production drops.
Nelson will long be remembered for dominating defenses with his size and speed and leaves the game fifth all-time in receiving yards (7,848) for the Packers, per Pro Football Reference.
A second round pick in 2008, Nelson's peak included four 1,200+ yard seasons between 2011-16, when he took over from another Packers great, Donald Driver. Nelson's biggest achievement was being part of Green Bay's Super Bowl winning team in 201, while individually, he was named to one Pro Bowl (2014) and was recognised as 2016's Comeback Player of the Year after missing all of 2015 with a torn ACL.
Number 87 leaves the NFL after 151 games, 613 catches, 8,587 yards and 72 touchdowns.
