The Green Bay tight end room has been somewhat of a carousal in recent seasons. That's set to change in 2019.
The team looks likely to keep former All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham on its roster despite an underwhelming 2018 campaign. Uncertainty over whether Graham would remain in Wisconsin came from a $5 million roster bonus due on March 15 and a $3.45 million base salary.
Cutting the 32-year-old would save Green Bay $5.3 million on the salary cap but cause $7.3 million in dead money.
Having cycled through Jared Cook, Lance Kendricks, Richard Rodgers and Andrew Quarless at the position in consecutive seasons, the Packers signed Jimmy Graham to a 3-year deal last March. Graham arrived in Green Bay off a team-high 10-touchdown season in Seattle, but pulled in just two this year.
But it seems the front office attributed Grahams low numbers to a struggling offense that saw head coach Mike McCarthy fired after Week 13. Graham will hope new head coach Matt LaFleur will change his fortunes around.
