New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is being charged with soliciting prostitution in Florida.
The 77-year-old billionaire allegedly paid for sexual services at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in a beach resort, police say. Mr Kraft's representatives "categorically deny that Mr Kraft engaged in any illegal activity" and would not comment further "because it is a judicial matter".
Florida police said that the charges stem from "two different visits" to the spa, resulting in two counts of "soliciting another to commit prostitution".
Police were "as equally stunned as everyone" that surveillance cameras captured images of Mr Kraft in the massage parlour, which according to its website charges $79 (€69.50/£60.50) for an hour of "a variety of massage modalities"offered in "private, quiet and clean rooms".
The Patriots owner was caught in a month-long investigation into human trafficking in Florida that has seen 170 arrest warrants issued and ten parlours closed down.
The spa's owner, Hua Zhang, 58, was arrested on Tuesday (February 19) on various prostitution-related charges and is being held on a $278,000 bond.
