Demaryius Thomas being cut by Texans

Expect Demaryius Thomas to be cut by the Houston Texans today.

Multiple reports have the long time Broncos standout being cut from the Texans, where he was acquired for a fourth round pick in October. NFL Media's James Palmer first reported the news.

Thomas suffered an Achilles injury in Week 16 which may have factored into the team's decision. As noted by Palmer, Thomas has recovered from injuries quickly in the past, but that may be harder now that he is 31-years-old.

The is not thinking of walking away from the game:

"My main priority right now is getting back healthy. I can still play, man. I'm not thinking about retirement. I just don't know where it will be," he told reporters, per the Houston Chronicle.

The former first round pick caught 23 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns in seven games with the Texans. He was due a non-guaranteed $14 million salary in 2019.
